PDO Threads

PDO Threads

PDO (polydioxanone) threads are made from suture material very similar to those used in surgeries. The PDO threads (smooth or barbed) will be inserted under the skin through a minimally invasive procedure with local anesthesia, which helps hold the skin up against the effects of gravity. Once the threads are inserted the body responds by sending cells to the threads, which aid in producing collagen and elastin.

PDO threads target sagging jowls, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, unwanted midface wrinkles, sagging neckline and undefined jawlines to lift and tighten skin. PDO thread lifting results last about 1-2 years and the lifting effect from the procedure may vary from patient to patient. Continued maintenance and repeating the procedure every 12-18 months is recommended to maintain the desired effect.

PDO threads can also be used to lift the brow or create a more linear brow for the "Fox Eye" look.
